    Chiang Mai is the largest and most culturally significant city in northern Thailand, and is the capital of Chiang Mai Province. It is located approx. 700 km north of Bangkok.     Karon Beach, located on the west coast of Phuket island, is a beach and the town adjoining it. The beach is approx. 1.5 km long. Karon Beach is very popular tourist destination, it is much more quieter than neighbouring Patong Beach. Therefore it is visited rather by families and couples. Karon offers visitors a long stretch of  white sand and some nice snorkeling and diving sites.
