  Chiang Mai is the largest and most culturally significant city in northern Thailand, and is the capital of Chiang Mai Province. It is located approx. 700 km north of Bangkok.   Pattaya is located on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand about 165 km southeast of Bangkok. Pattaya, which means the 'south-west monsoon wind", is one of the most popular beach resorts in the world. In 2005 it was visited by some 5,4 million visitors. It enjoys a tropical wet and dry climate, the most comfortable time of year coincides with the peak tourist season, which is over the Christmas and New Year period.

  Kata Beach is located on the west coast of island Phuket just a few minutes south of Karon Beach. Kata Beach is very popular with families as it is safe for children and non-swimmers.   Karon Beach, located on the west coast of Phuket island, is a beach and the town adjoining it. The beach is approx. 1.5 km long. Karon Beach is very popular tourist destination, it is much more quieter than neighbouring Patong Beach. Therefore it is visited rather by families and couples. Karon offers visitors a long stretch of  white sand and some nice snorkeling and diving sites.
